About

I’m constantly inspired by the feel-good stories I read of organisations helping others.

So inspired, in fact, that I’ve made it my professional purpose to work with organisations who are doing good things to share their stories and connect with their community.

Because when we connect with a cause, we want to support it.

I’m a specialist copywriter working with charities and organisations who make a positive difference. I’m based in Brisbane, but I work with some amazing organisations around the world.

I shine a light on the mission, services, successes, and needs of an organisation to connect with their community, inspire action, and encourage support.

I love what I do, and if you operate to support others or make the world a better place, then I’m sure I’ll love what you do too.

How we can work together

So, you’re a charity, not-for-profit, social enterprise or other organisation who is doing good things in this world?
And you’re looking for copywriting support, either for a one-off project or on an on-going basis?

I’m here to help.

I’ve worked as part of a busy internal marketing department and I’ve been a one-woman communications show. So, I understand the demands on you to meet deadlines and achieve goals.

I work directly with marketing, communication and content managers, editors, CEOs and COOs, business owners and agencies. I can work as an extension of your core team providing professional copywriting support, or I can be pulled into a project as the copywriting specialist.

“Kylie was a delight to work with. She was professional, organised, respectful and efficient. She was also visionary in repositioning the focus of Queensland RSL News, shaping it into a bright, modern, informative publication that was an exceptionally good read and a great representation of its target audience."

Want to know more about me? I’m flattered.

I much prefer to be the one writing the story than featured in it, but here goes…

I studied business marketing at uni and worked in business development, public relations, marketing, events and communications across the sports industry, corporate world and even a world-famous zoo (the latter two are almost the same thing, right?).

Then I married my high school sweetheart and we moved overseas, to France no less. I soaked up the culture and wrote about my experiences in a little blog.

When reality caught up with us back on home soil, I landed in comms for charities and felt right at home. It was fulfilling to know that I was contributing to a cause that was helping people in need.

I studied more throughout this time, and have qualifications in post-graduate comms, project management and health science.

Then I started a family and my priorities changed. I left the daily grind for the flexibility of freelancing. One of the things I’ve enjoyed doing the most throughout my career is writing – storytelling, corporate comms, anything! So, naturally, I turned to copywriting.

Three years (and another baby) into being my own boss, I decided to focus on being a copywriter for the NFP sector. With over six years’ experience working in-house across two well-known Queensland charitable organisations, I now work with charities of all sizes to tell their stories.

Giving back

I believe in giving back and supporting others where I can. I volunteer my communications and copywriting services to Zephyr Education Inc, an organisation that helps children in domestic violence shelters confidently return to school so they can continue their education.
